Job shadow form

Job Shadow is a one-day opportunity (some nursing shadows might allow for multiple days) for students ages 16 (must be 18 to shadow a physician) and older who have a general interest in a career in healthcare. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applications for students interested in anesthesia assistant programs will not be accepted. We are only accepting shadow requests for physicians and physician assistants with permission. The application approval process can take up to two weeks. Please plan accordingly.

Anesthesiology restrictions

NKC Health Anesthesiology takes job shadow requests from:

  • Applicants with a referral from NKC Health CRNAs or anesthesiologists
  • NKC Health nurses interested in furthering their education as a CRNA

Job Shadow requirements

Please be advised that proof of the following immunizations and/or tests will be required to submit your job shadow application:

  • TB test (choose ONE of the two methods below)
    • one blood draw for a QuantiFERON-TB Gold (QFT) or T-Spot test.
    • two-step TB skin test which is two separate skin tests where the second skin test is placed at least one full week from the read date of the first skin test. This process takes two weeks to complete and get results. Must submit all placed and read dates.
      • TB test suggested locations: contact a local health department or your PCP
  • MMR - immunity verified via lab tests or 2 doses of the vaccine administered at least 1 month apart
  • Varicella (chicken pox) - immunity verified via lab test or 2 doses of vaccine administered at least 1 month apart
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (October through March unless otherwise specified)
